Why replace windows when you can just replace the glass?
In most cases, well-maintained aluminum window frames last well over 30 years. What wears out first is how the window operates (the balancers) and the seal on the insulated glass. You can replace both the glass and the balancers for a fraction of the cost of a whole new window.
There’s also virtually no mess compared to tearing out the whole window, and it’s significantly quicker.
